I want to take advantage of my insider offerings but I don't know what my insider channel is.

I understand how confusing this can be, especially when you are told that Insider offerings are available but are not shown clearly which Insider program or channel your account belongs to. Since Microsoft has different Insider and preview programs, I would not want to assume that this is specifically related to the Windows Insider Program.

Could you please let us know where you saw the “Insider offerings” message? For example, was it shown in an invitation email, Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Security Copilot or another Microsoft account or product page? If the message includes the name of the program, subscription or organization providing the offer, sharing that wording would also help narrow this down.

You may also share a screenshot of the message or page you are viewing, but please hide any personal, account or organization information first. With those details, I can better identify which Insider program the offering refers to and guide you to the appropriate place to verify your enrollment and available access. This is the email that got me to go down the rabbit hole. The links included seem insufficient, confusing and circular.

To check the current Windows Insider channel on a device:

Open Settings.
Go to Windows Update > Windows Insider Program.
Under Choose your Insider settings, view the current channel.

Possible channels listed in the available documentation include Experimental, Beta, and Release Preview.

To also confirm Insider enrollment details:

In Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program, check Windows Insider account to see which Microsoft account or Microsoft Entra account is linked.
To check the current OS build number, go to Settings > System > About, or run winver.
