When sharing an Excel file from Excel - Share -, it doesn't show up in my sent folder in new Outlook

When in Excel, I share the file I'm working on. A box pops up, I click the three dots and choose share a copy. It opens another window that looks like an email being sent, but once I click "send", it doesn't arrive in the recipient's email and doesn't show in my sent folder. Why is this?

Hi @Office Manager

Are you using Excel Desktop (Windows) and does the Share window look like the screenshot below where you select More options (...) → Send a copy → Excel workbook/PDF? After clicking Send a Copy → Excel workbook, does Outlook desktop open? If yes, is it New Outlook or Classic Outlook?

If it opens in Classic, could you check whether there is an email account configured?

  • Open Control Panel → Mail → Email Accounts, or open Classic Outlook and check the accounts listed under File → Office Account / Account Settings.
  • Is there at least one mailbox configured?

If an account is configured, is it the same email account that is configured in New Outlook and the same account you're signed into in Excel?

You also mentioned "another window that looks like an email being sent", does it look something like this?

I look forward for your response.
