I currently manage a subscription for my customer and we have a reservation that is due to expire in 2028, but your article states that this is expiring 1 Feb 2027, will MS be honouring existing reservations until they expire or will be 'forced' into a change?

If your Azure Red Hat OpenShift reservation is currently showing an expiration date in 2028, the February 1, 2027 date in the article should not by itself be interpreted as an early termination date for an already-purchased reservation.

Azure reservations generally remain effective until their actual reservation expiration date. Once a reservation expires, the associated resources continue running but are billed at the applicable pay-as-you-go rate.

For Azure Red Hat OpenShift specifically, the reservation/prepayment applies to the Red Hat OpenShift software charges; the underlying VM compute charges are separate.

Therefore, if your reservation blade shows an expiration date in 2028, I would recommend checking the reservation details there rather than relying only on the date mentioned in the documentation.

If Microsoft is introducing a product or pricing change that specifically affects existing reservations before their contractual expiration date, the applicable Azure reservation terms or an official Microsoft announcement should explicitly state that.

If you can share the name/link of the article mentioning February 1, 2027, I can verify exactly what that date refers to and whether it applies to existing reservations.
