For Microsoft 365 subscribers:

• Publisher will no longer be included in Microsoft 365 after October 2026.
• Publisher files will no longer be openable or editable in Publisher after that date.
• Publisher will no longer be available for installation or download after October 2026.

For perpetual versions such as Publisher 2021 and earlier:

• Support ends on October 1, 2026.
• The app can still be installed and used beyond that date, but it will be out of support.

Recommended preparation before October 2026:

1. Find existing .pub files on the PC, OneDrive, or SharePoint.
2. Convert important files to PDF:
   • Open the Publisher file.
   • Go to File > Save as.
   • Choose a save location.
   • Select PDF as the file type and save.
3. If editing is still needed later, open the PDF in Word:
   • Open Word.
   • Go to File > Open.
   • Open the PDF file.
   • Select OK.

Note: PDF-to-Word conversion is optimized for text editing, so layout can differ from the original, especially for graphic-heavy files.
