For Classic Outlook on Windows, change the default font here:

    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Select File > Options > Mail.
    3. Under Compose messages, select Stationery and Fonts.
    4. Under Personal Stationery:
      • Select Font under New mail messages to change the font for new emails.
      • Select Font under Replying or forwarding messages to change the font for replies and forwards.
    5. In the Font dialog, choose the font, style, size, and color.
    6. Select OK three times.

Important checks if the font still does not change:

    • The font must be set separately for new messages and for replies/forwards.
    • The change takes effect immediately, but only for messages composed after the setting is changed.
    • If the issue is about how received mail looks, Outlook may be displaying the sender’s formatting.
    • If text looks unusual while reading messages, check whether Immersive Reader is affecting display. Open an email, go to View > Immersive Reader, and turn it off if enabled.

If the goal is to restore the default Outlook font in Classic Outlook, use these values:

    • Font: +Body
    • Font style: Regular
    • Size: 11
    • Font color: Automatic

If the problem is only in the Inbox list rather than inside the email body, that is a different setting:

    1. Go to View > View Settings.
    2. Open Other Settings.
    3. Adjust the font used for column headings, message rows, or preview text.
