Moving from Microsoft 365 Family to microsoft 365 single

To move from Microsoft 365 Family to a single-user plan, cancel the current Family subscription first, then purchase Microsoft 365 Personal or Microsoft 365 Basic after it expires.

Steps to cancel the Family subscription:

1. Go to account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365.
2. Sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used to buy the Microsoft 365 Family subscription.
3. Find the subscription and select Manage if shown.
4. Select Cancel subscription or Cancel. In some cases, the option may appear as Upgrade or Cancel.
5. Review the page, then select I don't want my subscription to confirm cancellation.

Important details:

• If Turn on recurring billing appears instead of Cancel or Manage, the subscription is already set to expire and no further cancellation action is needed.
• If the subscription was purchased through a third-party retailer, Apple App Store, or Google Play, cancellation must be handled through that provider.
• After cancellation, the subscription remains usable until the expiration date.
• When the Family subscription ends, storage reverts to 5 GB of cloud storage and 15 GB of Outlook.com storage.
• Anyone sharing the Family subscription will also lose their increased storage and other subscription benefits.
• If storage usage is above the free allowance, OneDrive uploads, edits, and sync can stop, and Outlook.com email sending and receiving can be affected.
