Azure for Students verification failure - ILERNA Online Spain

Hello,

I am trying to sign up for the Azure for Students offer to prepare for my AZ-104 certification, but the automated verification system is failing to validate my academic status.

Here are my details:

  • School/Institution: ILERNA Online (Spain)
  • Issue: The system does not automatically recognize my enrollment or school domain during the verification process.

I am currently an active student enrolled at ILERNA (finishing my modules and internship), and I can provide official enrollment certificates (certificado de matrícula) if needed to manually verify my academic eligibility.

Could you please guide me on how to submit my documents for manual verification or help me unlock my Azure for Students subscription?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Hey there, Daniel Marco Descalzo

Issue: The system does not automatically recognize my enrollment or school domain during the verification process.

From reading what you have posted, the verification failure is probably happening because the email domain isn’t recognised in Microsoft’s academic verification system. An institution normally appears in this database once they’ve been registered as an approved academic organisation.

Please can you speak to your university and ask whether they are enrolled in Microsoft’s academic programme. Their IT department should be able to confirm this, and they can also check whether other students have successfully activated Azure for Students. If needed, they can open a support request with the Azure billing team on your behalf.

For more information about how the university can enrol for this licence can be found here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/commerce/subscriptions/verify-academic-eligibility?view=o365-worldwide

It may be worth speaking to your universities IT department to check if other students have managed to sign up for the Azure Students subscription. Your school's IT department may open a support request to the Azure billing team on your behalf.

Could you please guide me on how to submit my documents for manual verification or help me unlock my Azure for Students subscription?

If the Azure for Students sign‑up page doesn’t offer a manual document upload option, then unfortunately you can’t trigger it yourself. In that case, Azure Billing Support would need to review your situation and advise on possible options.

To contact Azure support directly, you need an active subscription. If your university can’t open the ticket for you, you can create a pay‑as‑you‑go subscription here: https://azure.microsoft.com/

Once you have signed up for the pay-as-you subscription and have created your account. Please sign into the help & support blade here: https://portal.azure.com/#blade/Microsoft_Azure_Support/HelpAndSupportBlade

Just be aware that if support is unable to approve Azure for Students, you won’t be able to sign up for the Azure Free Trial afterwards.

Hope this helps,
Nathan
