Why is Outlook automatically deleting some of my emails

My Outlook sometimes deletes my incoming emails. This does not happen for every email, but there are large

gaps in my receiving any emails. I've checked the Deleted, Archive, folders and checked the rules and blocked emails without any success. How can I resolve this? I get my emails on my laptop and two iPhones.

Hi doreen raia

I’m sorry you’re experiencing this, especially since the missing emails affect New Outlook on your laptop and two iPhones.

Since you have already checked the Deleted Items and Archive folders, inbox rules, and blocked senders, please first sign in to your email account through its webmail page and check whether the missing messages appear there.

  • If the messages are visible in webmail, the issue is likely related to synchronization or display in New Outlook or one of the iPhones. Temporarily turn off Mail synchronization for this account on both iPhones, send a few test messages from another address, and monitor the mailbox in webmail. Then re-enable one iPhone at a time to identify whether a device is affecting the mailbox.
  • If the messages are also missing in webmail, check Junk Email, the Other tab if Focused Inbox is enabled, the Inbox filter, Sweep settings, forwarding settings, and whether an affected conversation was accidentally set to Ignore. Also check the mailbox storage, as a full mailbox may stop receiving new messages.

Please also confirm whether this is an Outlook.com/Hotmail account or a third-party account such as Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, or an ISP account. For a third-party account, rules and delivery settings may need to be checked directly on the email provider’s website.

Please let me know whether the missing emails appear in webmail and which mail app you use on the iPhones, Apple Mail or Outlook for iOS. This will help narrow down whether the issue is account-side or device-specific.
