Updating Excel on my MacBook Air.

Hello,

I'm unable to update Excel on my MacBook Air. I installed updates for the MacBook to try to resolve this. When I open Excel and click on "Activate", after logging in, I receive error code 0x0. Please help! Screenshot 2026-08-10 at 11.33.28 AM

I have the same problem. All weekend I got error code 0x0, now I timeout when I try to logon. I can not speak to a person at Microsoft and the AI is USELESS. I am using Monterey 12.7.6 and the Microsoft updated tells me all my apps are up to date. I have tried all the troubleshooting tips, nothing works, I can not access my files.

The 0x0 error is a widely reported problem with the Office apps on an Apple Mac caused by the July update

What version (not Build No in your screenshot) of Microsoft Office do you have, is that a subscription to Microsoft 365 or a standalone version of Office like Office 2019, 2021 or 2024.

At the top left of your Desktop, click the Apple icon and select 'About this Mac', what version of MacOS is installed on your computer?
