Hello Microsoft Learning Team,

I want to provide feedback regarding the Microsoft Fabric learning courses:

  • The courses are listed on Microsoft Learn, but many modules do not provide a sandbox environment.

When trying to access Fabric with a personal Microsoft account (Hotmail/Outlook), the system blocks login and requires a work or school account.

This creates a frustrating experience for individual learners who want to explore Fabric but do not belong to an organization.

Offering a 60‑day trial only for organizational accounts makes the learning path incomplete and inaccessible for personal users.

I strongly suggest:

Ensuring all Fabric learning modules include sandbox environments.

Allowing personal Microsoft accounts to access trial environments, at least for learning purposes.

Aligning the learning platform with the advertised accessibility of Microsoft Learn, which should be open to everyone.

Right now, the experience feels misleading and discouraging for personal learners. Please improve the accessibility so that individuals can truly benefit from the Fabric learning path.

Microsoft Learn sandboxes are no longer available. To complete hands-on exercises, access to an Azure subscription is required.

For Microsoft Fabric specifically, personal email addresses can still be used to start a Fabric free trial, but the supported path is not direct sign-in with a personal Microsoft account. The supported flow is:

  1. Create or sign in to an Azure account by using a personal email address.
  2. Complete Azure verification if prompted, including phone number and payment method verification.
  3. Create a user in Microsoft Entra ID.
  4. Sign in to Microsoft Fabric with that Entra ID user.
  5. Activate the Fabric free trial.

The Fabric trial provides free access for 60 days.

For product feedback about the learning and trial experience, the supported feedback channels are:

  • In the Microsoft Fabric portal, select Feedback next to the profile picture.
  • Use the Microsoft Fabric community feedback channels for ideas, issues, and feedback.

    Personal accounts are never going to able to be used for Microsoft Fabric, or many other Microsoft products, due their reliance on Microsoft Entra Id for authentication. Personal accounts do not provide the level of security required for enterprise products

    Microsoft does provide instructions on how to create an Microsoft Entra Id user account to start a Fabric trial
