I am no longer receiving notifications that new email has arrived. The option to receive is highlighted in my settings, but it's not happening.

Don't worry about that; I'll help you.

Let's take it step by step:

About the blue icon (Do Not Disturb icon)

About Settings (System)

If your system looks different from the images, you are likely using a different version (Windows 10 or earlier).

In that case, you can send screenshots and photos, and I can assist you using them.

Hi!

Do notifications from other apps or your browser appear normally? If it is a general issue, check if "Do Not Disturb" is enabled.

  • Click on the date and time area in the taskbar > Check the top corner to see if the "Do Not Disturb" bell icon is active (blue) User's image . If it is blue, click it to turn it off.

The option to receive is highlighted in my settings,

Have you checked both sets of settings (Windows and Outlook)? You need to check both. Windows

  1. Open Windows Settings > Privacy & security > Notifications > Turn on Notification access and Allow apps to access your notifications.
  2. Go back to Windows Settings > System > Notifications > Turn on Notifications. Also, enable notifications for each app in the app list.
  • Do not disturb must be turned off.
  • Turn on do not disturb automatically must be disabled (Uncheck During these times).
  • Focus mode must also be paused. Outlook
  1. Click enter image description here > Settings > General > Notifications > Turn on notifications.

For new Outlook for Windows, the most common causes are Windows notification settings, Focus/Do not disturb, Battery Saver, or Teams status.

    1. Check Windows notifications:
      • Open Start > Settings > System > Notifications.
      • Make sure Get notifications from apps and other senders is On.
      • Make sure Do not disturb is Off.
      • Find Outlook in the app list and confirm notifications are enabled.
    2. Check Focus settings:
      • Open Start > Settings > System > Focus.
      • If a focus session is active, select Stop focus session.
    3. Check Battery Saver:
      • Open Start > Settings > System > Power & battery.
      • Make sure Battery Saver is Off.
      • Battery Saver can temporarily disable notifications.
    4. Check Teams status:
      • If Microsoft Teams is in use, make sure status is not set to Do not disturb.
    5. Verify Outlook.com notification settings if mail is being used in Outlook.com:
      • Go to Settings > General > Notifications.
      • Under Mail, make sure notifications are turned On.
      • Under Calendar, make sure reminders are turned On if calendar alerts are also missing.

If notifications are enabled in Outlook but still do not appear, Windows system settings are the next place to check first.
