Cannot login to Google account in Edge?

Hi everyone,

I am having trouble signing in to my Google account in Edge. I use a Yubikey to login. The login fails without Edge even opening the security key dialog. I have no idea why it is doing this. I can confirm it works in Firefox and Vivaldi.

I get the following in Edge when trying to log in.

Can't Login

I am experiencing this as well on latest Edge + Google Account. Cant register new keys as well on account page

Note that this appears to have been resolved in the latest release (152.0.4191.66). Login to google with a security is again working.

Thanks for the update. Since the issue occurs in InPrivate mode, the YubiKey works in Firefox and Vivaldi, and Edge never displays the security key prompt, this appears less likely to be caused by extensions or cached data.

A useful next step would be to test the YubiKey on another WebAuthn/FIDO2 site (for example, Yubico's demo site) in Edge. If Edge also fails to prompt there, that would help determine whether the issue is with Edge's WebAuthn handling rather than Google's sign-in process.

Did this start after updating to Edge 151.0.4129.78 or Windows 11 build 26200.8875?

I'm also having the same problem.
The exact same issue.

Everything works with Chrome, but edge fails with the yubikey login...

Since the YubiKey works in Firefox and Vivaldi, that suggests the security key itself is functioning correctly. I'd also test whether the issue occurs in an Edge InPrivate window with all extensions disabled. If Edge never displays the WebAuthn/security key prompt and Google immediately returns an error, that may point to an Edge profile issue, an extension interfering with authentication, or a problem with Edge's handling of WebAuthn requests.

It would also be helpful to know the Edge version (edge://settings/help), Windows version, and whether other security-key sign-ins work in Edge.

Thanks for your reply. I tried in an InPrivate window, with the same problem. The Edge version is 151.0.4129.78. My Windows 11 build is 26200.8875. I only protect my Google login with the Yubikey, so I can't test that.
