We would kindly ask for your support regarding an issue encountered today at approximately 10:00 AM by BKT users while attempting to take the assessment for the Microsoft Learn course Microsoft Applied Skills: Streamline business workflows with AI chat - Applied Skills | Microsoft Learn

When the users launched the assessment, the virtual machine did not open, and an error message appeared on the screen as below.

As an initial step, we reported the issue to our ISD team to verify whether any internal restrictions were causing the problem. After reviewing the case, ISD confirmed that the issue is not related to any internal network or security restrictions on our side.

We would kindly ask for your support in investigating this matter. If necessary, could you please assist in opening a support ticket with Microsoft Learn?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

For a Microsoft Applied Skills assessment lab that does not open, use these supported steps first:

    1. Check connectivity readiness by launching the Lab Orientation & Connectivity Check.
    2. If the affected users are on work-issued devices, try a personal device instead. Work-managed device policies can block remote lab sessions.
    3. If the lab is being accessed from a managed work or school network, have IT review the published Connectivity Requirements.
    4. If the lab shows a blank or black screen, or input is delayed, treat it as a possible connectivity issue even if the in-lab latency indicator looks good.
    5. Try signing out of active browser sessions, clearing browser cache, then retrying.
    6. Retry in an InPrivate/incognito window or a different browser.

If the issue continues, open a Credentials Support case:

    1. Go to online support request.
    2. For Product family, select Learning.
    3. For Product or Service, select Microsoft Credentials.
    4. Choose the category that best matches the issue.
    5. For Types of Support, select Professional No Charge.
    6. Enter location and time zone.
    7. Select Email as the preferred contact method. Credentials support is provided by email, not phone.
    8. In the case details, include:
      • the Applied Skills assessment name
      • a clear summary of the VM launch failure
      • reproduction steps
      • screenshots of the error
      • the user’s Learn Username from Learn Settings

After submission, a case number is shown and also confirmed by email. Case status can be checked from the Manage tab of the online support request site.
