I am being charged for someone else's account, therefore I have no account details. How am I supposed to cancel the subscription, when I can't reach a human?

My card is attached to an account for someone who has passed away. The account is not mine and I have no idea what the login or account details are. All contact number go to the same AI chatbot that will not allow you to be transferred to a real human being. I have been trying to cancel this subscription for over a year now and am on the verge of canceling my discover account, as they are not helpful either, they keep allowing the transaction to proceed, month after month.

What is a person to do?

    Hi Justin Brown

I understand how frustrating this situation must be, especially when you’re being charged for an account that isn’t yours and you have no way to access it.

If possible, could you check your card statement to see if it shows any subscription name, and share the amount being charged?

If the charge seems to be associated with a Microsoft 365 business subscription (such as Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Standard, or Premium), you can try contacting Microsoft Support using one of the following options:

1.Contact Microsoft Support by phone: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support

When a call is made to support, the first step is to provide an automated voice response from AI. To connect with a real support agent, you may need to mention “Admin Center” and specify your role as a Global Administrator.

In the description of your request, it is also recommended to include the term “Admin Center.”

During the call, if you are asked whether another administrator is available, you can answer “no.” The call may then be routed to a real support agent, and a service request can be created.

2.If you are unable to reach the appropriate support team by phone, you can consider directly submitting a support request as a helpful workaround:

-Create a temporary Microsoft 365 tenant using a trial license: Go to Microsoft 365 Business Plans and Pricing and click Try for free to set up a temporary Microsoft 365 tenant with a trial license.

-Use this new account to sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and submit a support request.

-Select the Help & support (headset) icon >If Support Assistant is enabled, turn it off >Type contact support in the search box >Select Contact support, then choose Phone or Email to submit your request.

Note: This method does not require you to use the account for business purposes. It simply allows you to create a temporary Global Administrator account to submit a support request. The trial is free for one month, but be sure to cancel it afterward to avoid any charges.

For further instructions, you can follow this guide:

If this is a personal subscription (such as Microsoft 365 Personal or Family), you can contact Microsoft Support by going to Microsoft Contact Us > Type "Support" and click Get Help > Click Sign in to contact Support at the bottom of the page. > Under products and Services, select Microsoft 365 and Office Option > Under category, select technical Support > Chat with a support agent in your web browser.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction.
