I am the owner of a Microsoft 365 Premium subscription. Copilot works in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the other Microsoft 365 apps, but not in Outlook for Mac. Outlook version 16.111.3 recognizes both “Microsoft 365 Subscription” and “Microsoft 365 Premium” and shows the correct subscription owner, ******@gmail.com. However, Outlook Settings → Copilot says “Copilot is not supported for the account.” This is a Gmail mailbox, but Microsoft’s “Sharing Copilot in Outlook” support article says licensed Copilot access is available for connected third-party accounts, including Gmail. I have refreshed the license, enabled connected experiences, restarted the Mac, waited more than 24 hours, and completely reinstalled Microsoft 365. Please check or reprovision the Outlook Copilot entitlement/account mapping.

For Outlook on Mac with a Gmail mailbox, the supported path in the provided documentation is to link the non-Microsoft account to the Microsoft subscription in new Outlook.

    1. In new Outlook, go to View tab > View settings, or File tab > Account info.
    2. Select Accounts > Your accounts.
    3. Choose the Gmail account and select Manage.
    4. Select Link Accounts.

The Link Accounts option appears only if the Microsoft 365 subscription is on a Microsoft account with the same email identity as the third-party mail account.

Also verify these Outlook/Copilot requirements that affect availability:

    • Microsoft 365 Copilot works with new Outlook for Mac and classic Outlook for Mac.
    • For Outlook, Copilot is supported only on primary mailboxes hosted on Exchange Online. It isn’t available on archive, group, shared, or delegate mailboxes.
    • On Mac, refresh the license from any Microsoft 365 app: app menu > About <app name> > More Info... > Refresh License, then restart all Microsoft 365 apps.
    • On Mac, check privacy settings in Word: Word > Preferences > Privacy and confirm Experiences that analyze your content and All connected experiences are turned on.

The request to reprovision Outlook Copilot entitlement/account mapping is not supported by the provided documentation. If the Gmail account is already linked in new Outlook and Copilot still shows “not supported for the account,” the documented next step is to contact Support.
