Troubleshooting browser crashes or performance issues on Windows 11

Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Microsoft Edge keeps crashing. I can't open it. When I do, it opens a blank grey window and then closes. I looked in Task Manager, there are no active instances of Edge. There are 6 instances of Microsoft Edge WebView2.
It started yesterday, I had had my laptop running for the last 3 weeks. I've had a class and stuff open and I decided not to close it. The class recently ended and I shut down the computer. Yesterday, I opened it and the desktop background was black. Then Edge wouldn't open. I have also found out just now, that a good amount of apps won't work. So far, it looks like Outlook, Edge, Paramount+, Netflix, Lenovo Vantage, and Remarkable won't work or won't function properly (Remarkable opens to a white update screen).
I have restarted. I've attempted to repair Edge, but now it seems bigger than that. I've tried to reset the user data for Edge. I've tried to use DISM file checker. It originally worked but stopped at 63% for a while. I closed out of the terminal and the progress bar doesn't come back. I believe the problem has to do with the memory maxing out as its remaining around 55%. When I try to boot up Edge, a bunch or msedge instances open before one gets suspended and they all end leaving one or two instances of Microsoft Edge. They eventually end too. I am almost certain of some weird corrupted files. I honestly have no clue how it got this bad. I think there might be something wrong with the WebView2. This is because I tried to uninstall an app I've had and it said that it couldn't be installed without having it installed even though there are instances running. I am honestly lost. I'm afraid I might need to factory reset, and that's not very exciting.

We had 8 users with this problem. Uninstalling NVIDIA RTX Desktop Manager and restarting the PC fixed the problem. nviewH64.dll causing the problem in our case.
I think trying the apps under a new Windows user helps show whether the problem stays with Edge or comes from the current Windows profile.

Given the symptoms, the most supported next steps are to isolate whether this is an Edge profile/startup problem or a broader Windows/app issue.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --user-data-dir="%TEMP%\edge-test-profile"
edge://settings/system.edge://version and note the full version.edge://crashes and note the most recent crash ID.Because Outlook, Netflix, Paramount+, Lenovo Vantage, and Remarkable are also failing, this points beyond a normal Edge-only profile issue. The Edge-specific steps above can confirm whether Edge itself is corrupted, but multiple affected apps indicates a broader Windows or app platform problem rather than only WebView2. The supported Edge path is:
