How to change account from child account to adult with full accessibility.

I have a very old Microsoft account that is linked to my current email, but it was previously restricted with child controls. I purchased Minecraft today just to find out I cannot access multiplayer due to it being a child account (I am no longer a child). To combat this issue I logged into the "parental" email and kicked myself out and also made sure my account matched my actual birth date. However Minecraft still says that my account is basically child locked. I was wondering how I could fix this or if it just needs time to update?

    Who was the administrator of the computer/account when you were set up with a child account? Have that person change your sign in and use information.

    Hello andrew jobar,

    Since the birth date is already correct, first check whether Microsoft still classifies the account as requiring parental consent:

    1. Sign in to the Microsoft account profile.
    2. If Parent or guardian consent is required appears, use an adult Microsoft account to provide consent.
    3. If the profile cannot be edited, the adult account that originally provided consent must open Manage child accounts, select the affected account, and choose Edit this child’s personal info.

    After Microsoft recognizes the account correctly, sign out of Minecraft and sign back in. If only multiplayer remains blocked, that is another online-safety permission rather than the Microsoft account age itself.
