I have the surface laptop 7 and used to have copilot on it before I deleted it for temporary storage issues. I'm now trying to redownload it but it continuously gives me the message saying that it couldn't download and to wait again before trying. It's been a month of me retrying but it still doesn't work. How do I download it?

    Hi Vicky,

I understand how frustrating this must be, especially after trying to reinstall Copilot repeatedly for a month.

To help narrow this down, could you please confirm:

    • Are you reinstalling Microsoft Copilot directly from the Microsoft Store?
    • What is the exact error message or error code shown when the download fails? A screenshot would also help, but please hide any personal information.
    • Can you download or update other apps from Microsoft Store normally?
    • How much free space is currently available on the Windows drive?

In the meantime, please try the following:

    • Go to Settings > System > Storage and make sure there is enough free space available.
    • Open Settings > Windows Update, select Check for updates, and install all available updates.
    • Open Microsoft Store > Library > Get updates to update the Store and other apps.
    • Press Windows + R, type wsreset.exe, and press Enter. Wait for Microsoft Store to reopen, then try the installation again.
    • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft Store > Advanced options. Select Repair first. If that does not help, select Reset.
    • Sign out of Microsoft Store, restart the Surface, then sign back in and try downloading Copilot again.
    • If you use a VPN or proxy, temporarily turn it off while testing the download.

Please make sure you are installing the regular Microsoft Copilot app rather than the Microsoft 365 Copilot app, as these are different applications. While troubleshooting the installation, you can also use Copilot through a web browser.

While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.
