Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!
Thank you for providing the detailed information.
Since the webcam's video function is working but Sound Recorder reports "No Audio Input available," Windows is recognizing the camera portion of the device but does not appear to be detecting the webcam's microphone.
Please try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Verify that the microphone is detected by Windows
- Go to Settings > System > Sound > Input.
- Check whether the Logitech webcam microphone appears in the list of recording devices.
- If it appears, select it and run a microphone test.
2. Check microphone privacy settings
- Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone.
- Ensure that:
- Microphone access is enabled.
- Let apps access your microphone is enabled.
- Let desktop apps access your microphone is enabled.
- Let apps access your microphone is enabled.
- Microphone access is enabled.
If these settings are disabled, Windows may prevent the webcam microphone from being detected or used by applications.
3. Check Device Manager for the webcam audio device
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Audio inputs and outputs and sound, video and game controllers.
- Look for a USB Audio Device, Logitech microphone, or any device with a warning icon.
- If no audio device appears, select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
- If the webcam audio device is present, uninstall it, select Attempt to remove the driver for this device, and restart the PC. Windows should reinstall the device automatically.
4. Install the latest motherboard drivers
Because the issue began immediately after the motherboard replacement, install the latest from the motherboard manufacturer's support site:
- Chipset drivers
- USB controller drivers
- Audio drivers
An outdated or missing chipset/USB driver can prevent the webcam's USB audio interface from enumerating correctly, even while video continues to function.
5. Show hidden devices
- In Device Manager, select View > Show hidden devices.
- Remove any grayed-out or stale webcam and USB audio entries, then reconnect the webcam and allow Windows to rediscover it.
6. Test using the Microsoft in-box driver
- Logitech webcams are generally UVC/UAC-compliant devices and normally work with the drivers included in Windows.
- If Windows is using a vendor-specific driver, try updating the device and selecting the standard USB Video Device driver where available.
- Please notes that switching to the built-in UVC driver can resolve certain webcam-related detection issues.
Given that:
- The webcam and microphone worked on the previous motherboard,
- The webcam works correctly on another computer, and
- Windows is reinstalling the same webcam device after removal,
I would focus on the motherboard chipset/USB drivers and whether the webcam's USB audio device appears in Device Manager. If no audio device is detected at all, Windows is likely failing to enumerate the microphone portion of the webcam rather than there being an issue with the Sound Recorder application itself.
