Swollen battery or just normal use?

hello, i am a digital artist who using a 3 y.o HP Pavilion 14S laptop and recently just checked for my battery health out of curiosity, i saw that the health went from 40mWh in 2023 and 26mWh today.

i frequently use it for Clip Studio Paint, Adobe Illustrator and other art and graphic design softwares alongside discord and brave at the same time.

is this kind of battery drop normal for this usage ? or does my battery need replacing?

    Yes, it is normal for battery longevity and capacity to decrease over time.

    Regarding capacity loss: this process can be accelerated if you keep the laptop plugged into power constantly, which can cause the battery to degrade or swell—factors that reduce its lifespan.

    As for replacing the battery, you can test it during normal use to see how long it lasts; for instance, if it used to last 4 hours, it might have dropped to two hours, and so on.

    So, normal usage is fine, but if you notice the battery swelling, I recommend replacing it as soon as possible for safety reasons.
