Since the Repair Now option hasn't fixed the problem, restart your PC. Run an Online Repair as discussed in the article at https://support.microsoft.com/en-US/Office/lifecycle/repair-an-office-application .

Before you begin, make sure that you can access your account at https://account.microsoft.com/services and that your Office product is associated with it. That way, you ensure that you can reinstall Office, which is normally the final step of an Online Repair.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Restart the computer and then test Word again. This is recommended when the built-in Repair now prompt does not fix the problem.
    2. Run an Online Repair for Office. This is more thorough than the repair prompt inside Word.
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Apps > Installed apps.
      • Find Microsoft Office in the list.
      • Select the three dots (...) > Modify.
      • Choose Online Repair and then select Repair.
    3. If Word closes before work is saved, check whether Document Recovery appears the next time Word opens.
      • In the Document Recovery pane, open the most recent version of the file.
      • Save the recovered file immediately.
      • If there are multiple recovered files, use the date and time shown to choose the newest one.
    4. If a specific document shows a file corruption error, try Open and Repair:
      • In Word, select File > Open > Browse.
      • Go to the folder where the document is stored.
      • Select the file.
      • Select the arrow next to Open.
      • Select Open and Repair.
      • Do not open it from Recent, because that does not open the full dialog needed for this option.
    5. Be careful with files on the USB memory stick. File corruption can happen if a USB device is disconnected while the file is open. Use Safely Remove Hardware before unplugging the USB device.
    6. For future protection, if available, store Word files on OneDrive or SharePoint and use AutoSave.

If the problem affects every Word file, including files copied from the USB stick, the strongest supported fix is Online Repair.

Answer : I did just that and it worked. The Word File did not closed by itself in less than 30 seconds .

    Thank you

    I haven't tried these yet :

Run an Online Repair for Office. This is more thorough than the repair prompt inside Word.

Go to Start > Settings > System > Apps > Installed apps.

Find Microsoft Office in the list.

Select the three dots (...) > Modify.

Choose Online Repair and then select Repair.
