Publisher gone before the end date

In the lead up to Publisher being made obsolete I have been gradually filtering through my massive amount of files and transferring them to other file formats. I went to do some more yesterday and Publisher has disappeared from my computer and 365.

How am I supposed to finish transferring my files?

In all the information I have seen, there was nothing at the forefront about it possibly being removed prior to the advertised date.

    Hi Paula M

I understand how concerning this must be, especially while you're in the middle of migrating your files.

According to Microsoft’s official announcement, Publisher in Microsoft 365 is expected to remain available until October 1, 2026, and users should be able to continue using it with its current functionality until that date.

If Publisher has disappeared from your Microsoft 365 installation before that time, this would not be the expected experience.

In the meantime, here are a few things you can check:

    • Try an Online Repair of Microsoft 365

Reference: Repair an Office application | Microsoft Support

    • If you’re using a work or school account, check with your IT administrator to confirm whether your current license still includes Publisher and whether there have been any recent changes to app availability.
    • If the issue persists, your IT team may need to contact Microsoft Support for further assistance. For guidance on raising a support request, see: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

I hope this helps clarify the situation.
