I keep receiving e-mails form Microsoft that some of my tools will no longer be active after 10/1/26. Is this true?

An email was recently sent informing/reminding users that Microsoft Publisher will be removed from Microsoft 365 as of October 1, 2026. This does not affect Word at all. If you have not used Publisher, you need do nothing. If you have saved files in Publisher, you need to convert them to a different format (Word, PowerPoint, PDF). But if you have an older version of Office (the perpetual-license product) that contains Publisher, that will not be affected.

It's true, Publisher is reaching end of support in October. You can read more here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/publisher/microsoft-publisher-will-no-longer-be-supported-after-october-2026
