Controlling settings, permissions, and membership within Teams and channels
Good day PWT, and I appreciate the clear explanation of your concern.
Currently, the Teams admin center doesn't provide an option to disable the live search behavior in the Manage teams page. However, there are a few troubleshooting steps that may help improve the experience:
1/ Ensure that your operating system and web browser are fully updated.
2/ Refresh the browser session when the issue occurs.
3/ Try using a private/incognito window or a different browser.
If the search works normally in a private window, the issue is likely related to browser cache, cookies, extensions or local browser data. Please clear your browser cache and cookies:
Edge: Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data.
Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data.
Select All time as the time range, then choose Cookies and other site data, Cached images and files and Download history, (Browsing history is optional).
Microsoft Edge:
Google Chrome:
After that, sign in to the Teams admin center again and check whether the issue persists.
Note: If you're using a different browser and don't see the options mentioned above, please let me know which browser and platform (Windows, macOS, etc.) you're using.
I completely understand how these limitations in Teams admin center can feel disruptive. As a forum user, I hope you understand that I don’t have the ability to modify or escalate product issues directly. However, I strongly recommend submitting your feedback through the Ideas · Community. This is the most effective way to ensure your voice reaches the product team and can be considered for future improvements.
Once you've submitted your feedback, feel free to share the link here in the comments. I’ll be happy to upvote it to help bring more visibility.
Additionally, as other users have raised similar concerns and may not be aware of where to share their feedback, I hope this response helps clarify the situation and suggests a potential next step. Highlighting this information can make it more visible to others in the community who may be facing the same issue, making it easier for them to find guidance and contribute their feedback as well.
Thank you again for your time and for raising this important usability concern.
