BSOD on Zephyrus G14 but ONLY while on battery

While running on battery my laptop crashes every 5-30 minutes with various stopcodes (or just restarts without a bluescreen). This only happens while on battery, runs just fine while plugged in.

Bluescreens include:
"IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" (most common, sometimes has "ntoskrnl.exe" as the cause)

"ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NOEXECUTE_MEMORY"

"CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED"

And probably some others I've forgotten/computer went to black screen and restarted before I could read it.

No clue what causes it, the problem has been around for like 2 years and has persisted through reinstalling windows multiple times. I've run the common stuff, like chkdsk, sfc /scannow, dism, memtest.

Based on the minidumps, it could be an issue with the AMD power driver. Usually, the GPU isn't the cause, but it would be a good idea to reinstall that driver as well.

First, try reinstalling the AMD chipset drivers.

  1. Go to the website below > Click on Drivers & Tools.

  • Download the AMD Chipset driver.
  • Confirm your laptop's exact model before downloading the driver. The Zephyrus G14 laptop has several different model variants. If you are unsure, press Windows + R, type 'msinfo32', and send me a screenshot of the System Summary.
  1. Press Windows + X > Click Device Manager > Expand System devices > Look for the AMD GPIO Controller device > Right-click it > Reinstall.
  2. Restart the computer.
  3. Install the downloaded driver.
  4. Restart the computer again.

    Hi!

    Based on the minidumps I analyzed, there is a clue pointing to the amdgpio2.sys driver (the AMD GPIO controller, which handles power management, sleep modes, etc.).

    I also noticed other drivers, but to be certain, please confirm your laptop's GPU and CPU:

    1. Press WINDOWS + X > Maximize the window > Select Task Manager > Click the Performance tab.
    2. Click CPU > Take a screenshot of the window.
    3. Click GPU > Take a screenshot of the window.

    Also, please confirm your Windows 10 version, as it appears to be an older build:

    • Press WINDOWS + R > Type "winver" (no quotes) > Take a Screenshot of the Window and send it to me
