Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Dear Akhil Viswambharan,
I understand your Microsoft 365 subscription is active until May 21, 2027, but Word and Excel on the iPad still ask you to purchase it. This can happen when the iPad or Office apps are outdated.
Please try the following:
- Open Settings > General > Software Update and install the latest available iPadOS version. See more: Update Microsoft 365 or Office on your macOS or iOS device
- Open the App Store, select your profile picture, and update Word, Excel, and Microsoft 365. Then restart the iPad.
- If everything is already updated, delete and reinstall Word and Excel. Before doing this, save any files stored only on the iPad.
- Try a different Wi-Fi network or mobile hotspot in case the current connection is preventing the apps from verifying the subscription.
If the iPad does not support iPadOS 17 or later, the current Microsoft 365 apps may not work fully. As an alternative, use Microsoft 365 for the web in Safari or access Word and Excel on another device that meets the system requirements.
Please let me know how it goes after trying these steps, and I'll be glad to continue looking into it with you.
