July 29 Preview Update (KB5101684) issue

I have an occasional black lock screen wallpaper from time to time the UI (clock , date ,etc.) is still visible and the log in screen is visible just a black wallpaper. I tried windows spotlight and a new picture wallpaper still happed this only happened 3 times in the last week. After a long session of ruling out causes I think it might be the update. If some one can verify I'd be grateful. My device is Asus TUF f16 (2025) JMR with intel core I7 14650HX and RTX 5060 I have the latest bios and drivers.

    There are some problems reported in that KB5101684 update, not this problem specifically.

    Those optional preview updates are basically a beta version of the following months update, they may contain bugs, it is best not to install the preview updates and wait for the full public release version of the update to be released.

    On the Windows Updates settings window, there is a switch to 'Get the latest updates as soon as they are released', disable that option and restart your PC, that will stop the optional preview updates installing automatically, and you will then receive the normal monthly updates.
