Okay so I bought minecraft on my ******@gmail.com account using Microsoft rewards using a 25$, 5$, and 3$ gift card through the program, and I played Minecraft on that account for a few days, but I noticed some issues. Each time I tried to sign into Microsoft with the ******@gmail.com account, there were errors and saying my account didn't exist. So I created a new one using the same exact email, ******@gmail.com, and because of this mistake, I have lost my minecraft account, because each time I try to sign into it (Minecraft account User: [removed to protect privacy]), it just signs me into the new account. I also notice that my previously earned points were missing, and because minecraft costs $29.99 with tax, I should still have a few cents in my balance, but they disappeared too. In the order history, it also says I made no Purchases in the past 3 months, which is incorrect because I bought minecraft like a 1 or 2 weeks ago. I've emailed Microsoft Rewards Support but they keep sending em to Contact Microsoft Account Support but I can't send in a request or anything. I'm not sure what to do. HELP MEEEE :(

Hey there. Nice to meet you.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this.

Based on your description, your account was compromised. The hacker was able to remove your account's primary email/security info email and replace it with the hacker's email, which is why you received the error your account doesn't exist when signing in.

It may have appeared that you recovered your account, but in reality, you created a new Microsoft account using the same primary email address without your purchased licenses. As a result, your Minecraft game license remains under your hacked Microsoft account.

Since the security info has been replaced by the hacker, I'm afraid there is no other working method to recover the Microsoft account with your purchased licenses, and Microsoft Support cannot help either.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

Darhyl

A recreated Microsoft account with the same email does not restore the original Minecraft purchase. The Minecraft license and Microsoft balance were tied to the original Microsoft account, not the newly created one.

    What to do next:

    1. Check whether the purchase exists under a different account.
      • Review all email accounts for Microsoft receipts or purchase confirmations.
      • If the order is not in the current account’s order history, that strongly indicates the purchase was on a different or older account.
    2. Check the current account order history directly.
      • Sign in to the order history page: Open your order history
      • Change the Ordered within Past 3 months filter if needed.
      • If the order still does not appear, it is not attached to this account.
    3. If the account may have been compromised, use Microsoft’s recovery flow.
    4. If the charge was made through Microsoft’s payment platform, request refund guidance from Microsoft Store.
    5. If there was a duplicate charge or the order number is available, contact Microsoft Store Support.
      • Have the Microsoft account details and order number ready.
      • Microsoft specifically directs duplicate-charge cases to Microsoft Store Support.

Important limits from the available guidance:

    • Creating a new Microsoft account with the same email does not bring back purchases from the deleted or original account.
    • If the original Microsoft account was deleted, purchases associated with that account are lost.
    • If the account was compromised and the primary email was changed, the purchase may still exist on the original account, but it would not appear in the new account’s order history.
