The OneNote Web Clipper has stopped working. I use Chrome. It requires you to sign in. When you try to sign in, the following message appears:

Server Error in '/siteapi' Application.

Runtime Error

__Description:__An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. __Details:__To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web> </configuration>

__Notes:__The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web> </configuration>

    Hello Lukáš Pešout

    I’m sorry you’re experiencing this issue.

    The “Server Error in ‘/siteapi’ Application” message is related to a current service-side issue affecting sign-in to the OneNote Web Clipper. This means the problem is not caused by Chrome or a configuration file on your computer.

    Please do not follow the instructions shown on the error page to create or modify a web.config file, as those instructions are intended for the service administrator.

    As a temporary workaround, here are what you can do:

    • Copy and paste the webpage content directly into OneNote.
    • Use Windows + Shift + S to capture the required content and paste it into OneNote.
    • On macOS, use Command + Control + Shift + 4 and paste the clipping into OneNote.

    Feel free reply back to this post if you need further assistance, I'll be happy to help.
