Formal Complaint — Visio Plan 2 Installation Caused Significant Professional Impact

I am filing a formal complaint with the Customer Experience escalation team regarding the installation process for Visio Plan 2. I have been a Microsoft Office user for more than 30 years, and I have used Visio since its original developer long before Microsoft acquired it. I have never encountered a more confusing, fragmented, and poorly documented installation workflow.

This process cost me two full days of productivity. As a licensed architect billing $150/hour, that represents $2,700 in lost time. I do not care whether Microsoft compensates me — but I do want Microsoft to understand how unacceptable this experience has been.

I want to know what Microsoft intends to do to fix this, because the current installation workflow is not appropriate for professional users. Hidden installers, contradictory navigation paths, and outdated documentation should not exist in a modern enterprise product.

I will be informing my professional colleagues about this experience. Microsoft needs to address this issue immediately.

    Hi George,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. As a fellow user, I'd love to help with the installation issue you're running into if you require. Could you share a few more details about what's happening so I can assist you further?

However, I completely understand how important it is to share your feedback and expect continuous improvements from a product you've used for so long, and it could be situation many others may run into as well. As sharing this kind of experience can be helpful for the product team when considering future improvements, I strongly recommend submitting your feedback through the Visio · Community. Customer feedback plays an important role in influencing product enhancements, and your voice could help bring attention to a feature that many people would truly benefit from.

Just a quick note as well: this is a user‑to‑user support forum. Independent advisors, including myself, are regular users too and don’t have the ability to change or influence Microsoft product features or design decisions. What we can do is share findings, observed behaviors, and practical tips based on experience and available information.

Once you've submitted your feedback, feel free to share the link here in the comments. I’ll be happy to upvote it to help bring more visibility.

Additionally, since many other users have raised similar concerns but may not be aware of where to submit product feedback, if my response has helped clarify the situation and pointed you toward a possible next step, please consider upvoting it. Doing so can help make this discussion more visible to others in the community who may be experiencing the same issue and are looking for guidance or a way to support similar feedback.

Please feel free to reach out if you need further assistance.

Thank you again for your time and for raising this important usability concern.
