Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi Stephanie,
For your concern, a personal Microsoft 365 account and a Microsoft 365 business/admin account are different account types with different management, security, identity, and data controls.
You basically do not really switch your personal account into a business admin account, but you need to use your personal account to buy a Microsoft 365 for business subscription, which creates a business tenant and a work or school account. You can then move your work data from the personal account into the business account, while keeping the personal account separate if needed. And you who buys the business subscription is made the Global Administrator by default.
For business plans, you can visit Microsoft 365 Business Plans and Pricing | Microsoft 365, review the plans, choose the one that best suits your needs and follow the prompts provided to buy a subscription and create a new tenant. Especially, Microsoft 365 Business Basic gives you a free 1-month trial so you can experience its features before making the final decision.
