Hi, I did yesterday upgrade from MS Personal to MS Family, but for some strange reason I was charged with full price of new package, not the difference on pro rata basis as would be logical. Please correct and / or explain. Any other provider is not doing like you did. Thank you

Yes, that is correct, did you check the expiry date on your subscription on this link (https://account.microsoft.com/services/) and does it indicate you now have more than 12 months left on your new subscription.

On the link below full details are provided on switching from a Microsoft 365 subscription to another version, in your case, you are switching to a version with more features, what happens is you are charged for a full new subscription, then the remaining time left on the original subscription is converted to the new subscription on a pro-rata basis, (in this case 92%) if you log into the subscription section of your Microsoft Account and check the expiry date on the Microsoft 365 Family subscription, you should see that includes the new and old subscription.
