Windows 10 core apps not working & Window 10 update says "Your device is missing important security and quality fixes"

All core windows 10 I've tried will not open, mostly they will not even open the app but sometimes they come with an error message to the affect of "something went wrong, opening the windows store" then close themselves & nothing happens. Any a screen that shows an error source it just says "unknown". Example apps are photo viewer, calculator, windows app store.

Additionally the windows update just has the following screen, it will not tell me what the issues are just that there are some. I'm assuming this is related as it happened about the same time.

    Hi!

    Note that there are optional updates available in the Updates section. It is recommended to install those as well. Click "View optional updates," select all the updates, and install them.

    However, I don't believe this is the actual cause. I saw in the threads you attached that the recommended steps were to repair Windows using commands, restart Windows Update, and re-register the apps.

    If none of that worked, a more advanced repair method might be required.

    First, check if the problem occurs with another user account:

    1. Go to System Settings (CTRL + I) > Select ''Accounts'' > 'Family and other users'' > ''Add another person to this PC'.
    2. On the Accounts screen, choose the option ''I don’t have that person’s login information' > Then select ''Add a user without a Microsoft account''.
    3. Click on the newly created user > Click "Change account type" > Under Account Type, change the option "Default User" to "Administrator" > Click "OK".
    4. Enter the username, and password (optional, leave blank if you do not want to put password) > Click ''Next'.
    5. Press the shortcut CTRL + ALT + DEL (DELETE) > Select ''Exit'' option > On the Login screen, choose the new user created.
    6. See if the problem will occur with this new user.
