Hey, I need some help figuring out what is wrong with my PC.

I have a prebuilt gaming PC that is about 5 months old. Recently I started getting random crashes while playing games mostly and rarely when just using it normally. Usually the game freezes for a second, then either the game crashes, the whole PC freezes, or I get a blue screen and the PC restarts.

My specs:

CPU: Intel Core i3-12100F
GPU: Inno3D/InnoVISION RTX 3050 6GB
RAM: 16GB
Motherboard: BIOSTAR H610MHC 2.0
PSU: GameMax GE-600 600W
Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Things I already tried:

Reinstalled NVIDIA drivers using DDU
Ran Windows Memory Diagnostic (no errors)
Ran OCCT VRAM test (0 errors)
Ran OCCT Power test (no errors)
Checked GPU temperatures (around 52°C GPU / 63°C hotspot while playing Roblox)
Ran sfc /scannow (no integrity violations)
Ran DISM RestoreHealth (completed successfully)

Event Viewer shows:

Display 4101
nvlddmk m errors

Some crash dump results:

0x7E SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
0x133 DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATIO N

One of the errors was:

It seems like it might be GPU-related, but I'm not sure.

Could this be a faulty RTX 3050, motherboard/PCIe issue, PSU problem, or something else? I wanna fix this problem

(I used chatgpt to fix this problem but coulndt figure out the solution and im also not an expert on pcs so please help)

Hi,

Based on the minidump provided, it could be a GPU failure.

Access the c:\windows\minidump folder, copy the files to your desktop, then upload them to OneDrive or Google Drive and post the link here for analysis.

If possible, try running a test with 3DMark to see if the PC crashes or not.

Hi,

It is showing two GPU-related issues: one involving the audio driver, one involving a memory error, and another involving a kernel error.

Could you run a 3DMark test to see if it crashes during the GPU or CPU test?

Did you change any BIOS settings?

Hello,

I ran the 3DMark test and I noticed a brief black screen flash during the test but the PC did not crash or restart

There were no errors in 3DMark, which is good, however I recommend installing the chipset drivers.

Access the BIOS, reset the settings and do a one-day test.

Open the command prompt (admin) and run the commands: sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, wait for the process to finish and restart the computer.

Then perform a clean boot.

Access Windows Security > Device Security > Memory Integrity > Core Isolation. Turn it on.

See if there are any errors. If not, restart the PC and check if it remains active.

Hi,

I completed the steps:

Installed the Intel Chipset and Management Engine drivers.

Reset the BIOS to default settings.

Performed a clean boot.

Enabled Memory Integrity.

Hi,

i tested with roblox it crashed sometimes but the crash didnt appear on perfmon /rel so i tested with minecraft but it usually crashed at the start when i play for like 4 minutes but then it stops and seems to not crash anymore heres the critical events:

Hi,

It looks like a GPU failure again; according to the log, the GPU appears to be experiencing hardware issues.

I recommend using DDU again after updating the BIOS and installing the chipset drivers.

The absence of BSODs is an improvement, but the GPU is still failing.

Note: DDU is a third-party application used to completely uninstall and reinstall the GPU driver.

After downloading, extract DDU to a folder.

Run the Display Driver Uninstaller.exe application, select the "Device Type" tab, and choose "GPU." After uninstalling the GPU driver, make sure to uninstall it for "All GPUs."

Click the first option, "Clean and restart," and wait for the process to complete.

Hi,

I completed the steps but I still get the same crashes I tried with a lot of games and still the same issue when I looked at perfmon /rel it didn't show critical events but now my Minecraft did and here's the error:

Here the minecraft crash says: "Perhaps the problem is in the program that you once installed. This program captures video from the desktop. Uninstall a program with this functionality to fix the problem."

Also my friend told me my pc case is smaller than a normal one so everything is compact, could that be also the problem?

Hi,

It could be a temperature issue. You could try downloading MSI Afterburner, setting a temperature limit, and testing to see if the problem persists—keep in mind you'll lose some performance, but it's worth a try for testing purposes.

It is very strange, though; it passed the 3DMark test but is still having issues. There is a chance it could be a PSU or GPU failure.

I tested Project Zomboid and it crashed almost immediately for minecraft it froze and then crashed after a few seconds. I then checked Event Viewer and found:

Unable to recover from a kernel exception. The application must close. Error code: 3 (subcode 7) (pid=9756 tid=4036 javaw.exe 64bit)

I also found Event ID 153 from nvlddmkm:

\Device\Video3 Error occurred on GPUID: 100

The crashes still happen with the MSI Afterburner temperature limit at both 70°C and 65°C.

Hi,

In this case, it's probably the GPU or PSU that's experiencing power issues, even after limiting the temperature.

I recommend taking the GPU and PSU to an authorized service center for separate testing, but it's definitely a hardware problem.

I'm sorry, in this case it's not possible to resolve via software.
