hi

i recently tried to log into my hotmail account and it didnt recognise my password (which was 100% the correct one). i therefore changed the password on microsoft account and again it didnt recognise the new ( or previous password) when trying to log into my hotmail account.

I’m glad the password is now working.

The “too many attempts” message was likely a temporary security lock after several sign-in attempts. The saved password may also have avoided a typing error.

Before changing laptops, make sure your recovery email and phone number are current. Keep the old laptop signed in until you have successfully accessed the account on the new one.
