Outlook email was typed it wrong

Outlook email address was typed in wrong. How do I fix it? I have a friend who had someone set up his Outlook account on his new computer they wrote in the WRONG email address. He nor I know how to delete the wrong email and set up the correct email address that's associated with is true Outlook

HELP please!! it can't be this difficult. Can't it? I googled it - said goto top left click file, he says there's 'no top left' file button." I wasn't at the computer with him. Really sighs it can't be this difficult, can't it. Please help me help him.

Hi KR,

Good day. Sorry to hear your problem. Unfortunately, you cannot rename, or correct an email name once it's been created. All you can do is create a new Outlook email address with the correct name/spelling, and add it as an alias to your Microsoft account. Then make the new alias as your primary sign-in address. Remove the old alias later if you no longer need it, unless it is the original Outlook alias, which may have restrictions.
