It appears that AMS PhotoWorks Ultimate is developed in Russia. How do you determine that it is a safe software app?

Considering their offer to be allowed into your computer to install the software brings up serious concerns about security of personal hardware.

There are some reviews about AnyTech 365 being a scam costing significant amounts of money for phony access to a person's computer.

Hi Myra Lee

There is no simple way to prove AMS PhotoWorks Ultimate is "safe" just because it works for some users. A software developer's country of origin alone does not determine whether software is trustworthy. Instead, verify the publisher, check the digital signature, scan the installer with Microsoft Defender, and download only from the official source.

As for AnyTech365, there are multiple reports and discussions on Microsoft forums raising concerns about aggressive sales tactics, expensive support contracts, and requests for remote access. If a company is pressuring you to grant remote control of your PC or purchase services, proceed with extreme caution and independently verify who they are before agreeing.

If you are uncomfortable with remote access, do not grant it. A legitimate software installation rarely requires an unknown third party to take control of your computer.

You can also report the this to Microsoft at www.microsoft.com/reportascam so the information can be used to improve protections and share intelligence about scam operations.
