I had to replace my old laptop with Windows 10 (64) to a new laptop with ver. 11. I moved my Visio Premium 2010 to the new laptop and apparently I did not move the license. Last time I moved it to the previous laptop, I needed your assistance then.

Your assistance is appreciated.

Thank you,

    Good day Frank,

Thank you for sharing your concern.

Just to gently clarify before we go any further, this is a user‑to‑user support forum. I don’t have the ability to access or investigate individual accounts because this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators and contributors, including external Microsoft employees, do not have access to internal systems or the ability to directly take action on Microsoft product features. However, I truly hope I can help review your situation, offer some guidance, and support you in finding the right next steps as best as possible.

Please note that Office 2010 products, including Visio Premium 2010, reached end of support. While activation may still be possible in some situations, support options and activation services for older products can be limited.

To help me better understand the situation and assist you effectively, could you please share a few details such as:

1/ Do you still have access to the original Visio Premium 2010 product key? (For security reasons, please don't share the full product key publicly. Simply confirm whether you still have access to it)

2/ When you try to activate Visio 2010 on the new computer, do you receive any error message or error code? If so, please share the exact wording of the message or a screenshot if available. (Please make sure to blur or cover any personal or sensitive information in the screenshot to protect your privacy)

3/ In Visio 2010, please go to File > Help. Do you see an Activate Product Key option?

If yes, please let me know what happens after selecting it.

4/ Is Visio Premium 2010 still installed on the previous laptop? If it is, please let me know whether that computer is still accessible and usable.

This will help me better understand the context and provide more targeted support. Any additional information will help me better understand and support you.

In the meantime, you may review the following article for activation guidance: Activate Office 2010 - Microsoft Support

Additionally, based on my findings, you will need to uninstall Visio 2010 from your previous laptop before installing it on your new laptop. After the installation is complete, sign in with your account and enter the product key when prompted.

If you're using a Visio 2010 product key, please note that it has activation limits. When the key has been used too many times, you may receive an activation error.

I look forward to your response and hope to hear from you soon.
