How to get Outlook classic on correct 365 account

My 365 is a Personal/family account. And yes I'm aware they both need to be on the same account. The issue is with Outlook, Outlook is not on my Personal/Family 365 account and nothing I've tried will change that.

Thanks for clarifying. Outlook can show two different types of accounts: the Microsoft account that activates Office and the email accounts added to the Outlook profile.

Where exactly do you see the wrong account?

• File > Office Account, under Product Information or User Information
• File > Account Settings > Account Settings > Email
• Or in the Teams sign-in message

Also, which Teams account are you using? A Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription does not include the Teams Meeting add-in for classic Outlook. That add-in normally requires an eligible work or school Microsoft 365 account, so changing Outlook to your personal account may not remove the Teams prompt.

The teams account is part of my 365 subscription. And yes it is included, and the add in for outlook was included in the download.

The same Microsoft support page also states under Authentication that the Teams Meeting add-in requires Teams to be signed in with a valid commercial account.

Microsoft 365 Personal or Family includes the Outlook desktop app, and Teams may install the add-in on the computer. However, this does not assign the personal account a commercial Teams license. This is why the add-in can appear in Outlook but continue asking you to sign in.

To clarify the separate Outlook account issue, where exactly is the incorrect account shown?

Is it under File > Office Account, or under File > Account Settings > Account Settings > Email?

Please describe what each section shows, but mask the email addresses.

I spoke to an agent with MS Tech support. You are correct about the Teams add-in. So that issue is done.The Outlook Classic account information was due to an old register file (from the trial version of Outlook classic) that needed to be deleted. So all my issues have been resolved.
