I've been using edge on android 16 (OneUI 8.5) for some time.

Recently using a 3rd party password manager (Keeper) has stopped working in edge. It continues to work in all other browsers (Chrome, brave). I've also tried switching keyboards with no success. Up until a couple of weeks ago it worked fine.

The bar above the keyboard simply doesn't appear.

I suspect there is an issue with edge interacting with the Android credential manager.

Any suggestions as to solutions? I don't want to use the password manager integrated into edge - I need to use Keeper (which should work through the android API).

Anyone else having this issue?

Same issue on both the standard and the Dev version.

You're not the only one. If Keeper still works in Chrome and Brave but not in both the stable and Dev versions of Edge, it does sound like an Edge-specific issue rather than an Android or Keeper problem. As a few things to check, make sure Keeper is still selected as the default Autofill service in Settings > Passwords, passkeys & accounts > Autofill service, and verify that Autofill is enabled in Keeper. If those settings are correct, I'd recommend reporting it through the Edge feedback tool with your Edge version and Android build details, as it may be a recent regression in how Edge interacts with Android's Credential Manager. Hopefully Microsoft can address it in an upcoming update.

Hi,

I tried to reproduce the issue on my end. I installed Keeper, created an account, and enabled its browser autofill feature.

From what I observed, the issue appears to be with Edge not having the option to hand off password management to a third party, even when one is installed. However, I seem to be able to make it work by re-setting Keeper as the password manager within Edge.

Here are the steps I did. See if they work for you as well. Tested it before and after performing these steps on Spotify website by the way.

Open Edge then go to settings > Microsoft password manager
Click the gear icon then tap on Autofill for other apps
Tap on Open settings and re-select Keeper
It may prompt you a confirmation that you trust the app and select OK
Restart the browser and see if it works

Thank you - yes that seems to have improved things. Still not seamless with random times it doesn't but then this in edge never has been seamless.
