If clicking Repair Now simply closes PowerPoint and the same error appears the next time you open it, the built-in repair prompt may not be completing successfully. This issue is often related to a corrupted Office installation, an add-in, or a problem with the local Office profile.
You can try:
Start PowerPoint in Safe Mode: Press Windows + R > Type powerpnt /safe> Press Enter (Open Office apps in safe mode on a Windows PC | Microsoft Support)
If PowerPoint opens in Safe Mode, disable any add-ins:
- File > Options > Add-ins > Select COM Add-ins > Go > Clear all add-ins and restart PowerPoint.
Run an Online Repair of Microsoft 365:
- Open Control Panel > Programs and Features > Select Microsoft 365

If the issue continues, completely uninstall Microsoft 365, restart the computer, and reinstall it using the education account associated with the license.
