Unable to Launch Excel after installation of Office 365 from Microsoft Website, also unable to open excel file

I am unable to find Excel option on my laptop to Lauch after installation of MS Office 365.

Likewise if i check for Word , i can see word available and it open documents.

But unable to open any Excel file and also cant see Excel available in the Windows Programs options to launch.

please help to resolve this issue urgently.

I have already subsribed for MS Office 365 Family version (SG$189.99 / Per Year ) which is valid till 5/20/2027.

Could you please see if you can launch the Excel app in safe mode?

Click Windows + R, type excel /safe, and click Ok.

If Windows is unable to find the program,

try repairing Office applications-

Go to Start > Settings > System > Apps > Installed apps.
Locate Microsoft Office 365 in the list, select Modify.
Then click Online Repair and select Repair.

Once the Office applications have been reinstalled, try launching the Excel app normally.

Yes, i am able to open Excel in Safe Mode as per below Step, refer to the attached screenshot.

Windows + R, type excel /safe, and click Ok

After this i closed the excel and again launched Excel from Run and its working fine now .
Also i can open the excel files which i could not open earlier.
May i know why it was behaving like this ? I would like to understand the Root Cause of this issue and how Microsoft can fix this to have a better User Experience. I don't think any user has to come back to Microsoft for such questions again , this is a very basic feature and Microsoft should ensure that this runs seamless.

Hello,

Safe Mode starts the app with minimal configuration, which allows you to disable certain cached configuration files.

We can’t definitively determine the exact root cause of the issue here as it could be related to an add-in or a temporary configuration problem. However, starting in Safe Mode helped Excel bypass or reset whatever was preventing a normal startup.

By Following the below step , Issue was Resolved.

Click Windows + R, type excel /safe, and click Ok.
