Hi james,
In Microsoft Project Pro 2021, a "table" can be either a table inside a Report or a custom Project table definition used in view. Therefore, I will provide guidelines for both situations:
1/ Remove a table from a Project Report
- Open the project file and go to Report tab
- Open the report that contains the table
- Click once on the table in the report area. Also note that:
- Ensure the whole table object is selected
- You should see the selection border around the table
- Press Delete on the keyboard to delete it > save the project
Just in case if Delete only clears a cell or does nothing:
- Click the outer edge of the table until the whole table is selected
- Go to Table Design/Table Layout > Select > Select Table > Delete
2/ Delete a custom table definition from Project
- In Project, go to File > Info > Organizer > in the Organizer window, go to Tables tab
- Tables in the current project are on the right side. Tables in Global.MPT are on the left side.
- Select the custom table you want to remove > Delete > Close > save the project
