Targeting ads to specific user segments based on demographics, interests, or behavior
Microsoft is not using its advertising platforms to allow political ads in this scenario. Microsoft Curate and Microsoft Monetize no longer permit political advertising, including election-related content, fundraising for political candidates, hot-button political issue ads, and ads that exploit a political agenda or sensitive political issues.
If an ad is covering content or stopping in the middle of a page, the supported action is to report the broken ad experience through the MSN feedback tool and include enough detail to investigate:
- Identify where the problem appears: homepage, article, gallery, or video.
- Include the page URL.
- Include the URL the ad opens to.
- Include the brand or product shown in the ad.
- Describe exactly what is wrong, such as overlapping text, hidden content, or an ad that cannot be closed.
If this is happening in Microsoft Edge, Edge can block pop-ups opened automatically by sites, but it cannot block website advertisements that are built into the page and made to look like pop-ups. To verify Edge pop-up blocking:
- Open Edge.
- Go to Settings and more > Settings > Privacy, search, and services.
- Select Site permissions > All permissions.
- Open Pop-ups and redirects.
- Turn on Blocked (recommended).
If the ad is embedded in the webpage itself, that behavior is outside what the Edge pop-up blocker can stop.
