How to change the display on incoming emails in Outlook Classic

I bought a new computer with Windows 11 Pro and every incoming email (both old and new messages) displays in a way that is very hard to read and changing the font in settings does not help. Also, when I reply to an email it displays the same way, again very hard to read. It is a strange font and the print is squished into a narrow view in the body of the message. Can this be changed? This is what an incoming message looks like:

Hello, have you tried turning off Immersive Reader?

I see today when I log into Outlook Immersive Reader is off and the font spacing is fine. I guess I must have toggled it on by accident the day before when I signed out. All problems solved and thank you so much for your time.

Hi! Let me help you.

Please turn off Immersive Reader. Open the affected email.

Look at the View tab (or the ribbon) for an Immersive Reader button — it may already be toggled on.

Click it to turn it off. If you don't see it in the ribbon, check View > Immersive Reader, or look for a small "book" icon near the top of the reading pane.

If Immersive Reader is off but the spacing persists, open it anyway, click the Text Preferences (Aa) icon inside Immersive Reader, and check if Text Spacing is enabled — turn it off, then exit Immersive Reader.
