Cannot add email addresses to contacts in Outlook Mail

I was apparently on the wrong thread, so I am starting a new question rearding Outlook Mail. Here are my previous posts:

I have an @gmail address attached to my Outlook Mail account. I imported my contacts from WLM (the same @gmail addy, only to discover that only the contacts were imported/are listed in Mail>Contacts.

When tring to add email addies to the existing contact(s) I get an error message. I cannot save contacts - it says "Something went wrong and we are unable to load this page". This was not always the case; after WLM was retired (?!!?) I was able to add contacts manually which was a big bother. Thank heavens I kept my WLM program so that I am able to c&p the email addresses! I am not certain when the glitch ocuured; faily recently.

Not only that, but when trying to log in to Outlook Mail online (Windows 11, both Chrome and Edge), I am prompted to create an @outlook email addy . . . when I try different usernames to it says that they are already taken. Thinking I may have one already, I tried logging in with them (I would have to do the "forgot password" route had I succeeded). This returns an error message that no account by those names exist. Super frustrating.

I was told (on the 'nuther thread)to download the Windows Outlook App. I did so.

welp, I downloaded the Outlook for Windows app on my iPhone 16 Pro and, lo and behold, I can add contact email addies there. There on my tiny screen. I downloaded the app on my desktop; it says that I already have the most current version. I still cannot add contact email addresses on my PC, the same error message presents. I tried deleting one of the accounts (remember, I imported my contacts from WLM, only to discover that names only were added), then adding it back in. Now my nephew's contact is gone; I cannot even add his name to my contact list, unless I do so on my iPhone :-p
