Hello Irenē Colthurst
This may be happening because the last line of Chapter 28 and the Chapter 29 heading are still part of the same paragraph, even though they appear on separate lines or pages.
Here are what you can try:
- Go to Home and select Show/Hide ¶ to display the formatting marks. Check the symbol after the last line of Chapter 28. If you see a bent arrow ↵ instead of a paragraph mark**¶**, delete it and press Enter.
- Click anywhere in the body-text paragraph and apply your normal body-text style.
- Click in the Chapter 29 heading and apply the chapter-heading style.
The Disable linked styles setting does not separate text that belongs to the same paragraph, so both sections must first have their own paragraph marks.
If they are already separate paragraphs, select the affected body text, choose Home > Clear All Formatting, and then apply the correct body-text style again.
I hope this helps restore the correct formatting for both sections.
