My Word, Excel & Powerpoint Subcrriptions are telling me to resubscribe - but I have a subscription. Can't access or change documents.

Hi anyone who can help!

I have an annual subscription to MS Office Word, Excel & Powerpoint. Out of the blue this week, all three programs, when I open them, have a banner across the page saying I need to resubscribe, and disables my ability to create any new documents.

a) I've tried restoring my previous purchase - this doesn't work.

b) I've tried following steps from a forum page - did not work.

c) I have also updated all three from my software updates page. This did not change anything.

d) I have a two year-old MacBook Pro OS 15.7.7 (24G720)

Help! Or is there a phone number where I can talk to actual human being. So frustrated!!

    Hi Julia,

    Based on your sharing, it seems like you are experiencing the License not found error in Microsoft 365/Office running on MacOS which has occurred after the recent update on July 13.

    Since you have tried updating the apps but the issue still persists, please try reinstalling directly from Microsoft download page, not from Mac App Store:

    • Completely delete the apps from your machine by going to Finder > Application > drag all apps into Trash > empty Trash
    • Sign into My account with your Microsoft account and go to My account > Install Office
    • The installer for Mac will be downloaded, and you can try reinstalling via that path to see if it helps.
