How to fix the missing hyperlink/link that i originally put in the words document?

Why did my hyperlink/link show the different pages of the word document? at the first time it will show the correct pages that i want but after closed the document and open it back again the link not show at the correct place that i put. how to fix this?

Hi Aisyah,

This usually happens when the hyperlink points to a page number instead of a bookmark or heading. Word automatically repaginates documents whenever content, margins, fonts, or printer settings change, so page numbers can shift after you reopen the document.

If the link is intended to navigate within the same document, I'd recommend:

Insert a Bookmark (Insert → Bookmark) at the target location and link to the bookmark instead of a page.

If you're using headings, link to the Heading rather than a page reference.

Press Ctrl+A, then F9 to update all fields before saving the document.

If you're using a Table of Contents or cross-references, update those fields as well before closing the file.

    i just search and i just knew that hyperlink use for external link/file/web besides the documents and cross-reference for internal within the documents. maybe i should try using the cross reference. thanks for the question maybe i get back to you after the cross-reference method also not workout for me

    Each cross-reference references a location in a document, specifically a bookmarked location, such as a text paragraph. The reference displays either the content (usually text) in such a bookmarked location, or the page number or the paragraph auto number.

    Word offers a number of items that you can select for cross-reference creation, such as headings.

    Are you referring to a hyperlink, which has static display text, or to a cross-reference which can be updated to show current information?
