How to retrieve emails in subfolders that were emptied

I discovered that about 23 folders were moved to Deleted Items folder as subfolders. Then contents of each folder was deleted and all folders show empty. I did not move the folders or delete the emails. Not sure what happened. Is there a way to retrieve the emails in these folders. Need specific instructions. AI on Google does not give enough info to proceed.

Did you move the folders out from under the Deleted Items folder? Have you looked in the "Recover messages deleted from this folder" folder within the Deleted Items folder? If the messages are not in the Deleted Items folder, the original folder or the "recover items deleted from this folder" folder, they're gone forever. Microsoft does not keep backups of personal folders.
